Positioning Your Kayak on the Roof Rack
Getting your kayak positioned correctly on the roof rack is the foundation for a find installation. If you notice any movement or hear any creaking sounds, stop and tighten the relevant straps. It's much better to discover a problem in your driveway than to have your kayak shift or fall during travel.
As you begin your journey, plan to stop after the first 10 to 15 minutes of driving to do a quick re-check of your setup. The initial movement of your vehicle can sometimes cause straps to settle, and you may need to tighten them slightly. Pay attention to any unusual sounds or vibrations during your drive that might indicate a problem. If you're traveling a long distance, plan to stop periodically and check your setup again.
